Very attractive plant for cooler water in the fall, winter, and spring. Flowers in the spring and again in the fall. In southern climates, Water Hawthorn will often bloom all winter long, from September to June. Water Hawthorne extends the season of flowers in the pond, blooming before water lilies in the spring and flowering again in the fall after water lilies have finished blooming. Blooms are white with black stamens and have a vanilla fragrance. The foliage is elliptical, shiny, and dark green, sometimes with a tinge of purple. Blooms are 1-2 inches above the water surface. It grows in sun to part shade in water from 6 inches to 4 feet deep with a spread of about 24-36 inches. Water Hawthorne is hardy in cold water and can withstand a freeze, needing no particular winter care or attention. It goes dormant in the summer months.
Color: White blooms with green elliptical foliage
Sun Light: Sun to partial shade
Zone: 5-11
Flowers: White blooms with a vanilla fragrance
Spread: 24-30 inches
Depth: 6 inches to 4 feet deep
Height: few inches above the surface of the water
It is best to plant water hawthorn in loam soil and place in your pond at water depths between 6 and 24 inches. Does best in an area with full sun exposure. Fertilize monthly, and discontinue when it's time for the water hawthorn to go dormant.

I think they all died

It’s hard to write a review as I think it’s too soon to tell how the plants are doing. Ordering was easy and shipping was satisfactory. Plants were well packaged. I unwrapped them and put them in my pond immediately and now it’s been a couple of weeks and the leaves are all brown and the flowers breaking off. I don’t know if this is just transplant shock or if they died.

Excellent quality

Shipped extremely safely. I've purchased online plants from other shops before and some of them are packaged carelessly and it's always a crapshoot on whether or not the thing survives. Not so with these water hawthorne!

Best customer communication

My husband and are new to water gardens and are in love with them. We started with one and it quickly grew to 5. We had one plant that we weren’t sure was supposed to look the way it did when it arrived. We were sent a new set right away. All the plants we ordered are doing very well. Now we just have to see how many we can keep alive during the winter. Portland Oregon area is pretty mild so we shall see. We know where we will go for more plants we want to try out. Love the customer service and prompt communication. Thank you!
