API® Pond Microbial Algae Clean uses a novel approach to algae control — live bacteria that compete with unsightly green water and string algae for nutrients, starving it out naturally. It's an alternative to chemical algaecides: safe for fish, plants, and biological filters while reducing ongoing pond maintenance.
Available in three sizes for any pond:
- 16 oz — small to medium ponds
- 64 oz — mid-size ponds, season-long use

Directions for Use
Initial treatment: Add 1 teaspoon per 50 gallons (or 0.25 cup per 600 gallons) twice weekly for the first two weeks.
Ongoing maintenance: Add 1 teaspoon per 50 gallons once weekly to maintain control of green water algae.
Best practice: Apply when water temperature is above 50°F. Remove activated carbon from filters during treatment.
