What Makes Goshiki So Special?
The Goshiki is one of the most intricate canvases in all of koi keeping. Its name means "five colors," a weave of white, red, black, blue, and grey in which a finely netted, reticulated ground flows beneath bold kohaku-style beni. Every scale carries its own fingerprint of shading, and the whole picture deepens and shifts as the koi matures — a living artwork that rewards patient keeping.
Hiroi Koi Farm has earned a strong reputation for pattern refinement and lustrous skin, and this Goshiki shows exactly why: crisp beni plates riding over an even, lace-like ground. As the reticulation intensifies with age, the contrast grows ever more dramatic.
