Large Pond Lotus

Large lotus are the full-size plants: 4 to 6 feet tall or more, with leaves like parasols and flowers that can reach 12 inches across. In a koi pond or a big water garden one becomes the centerpiece, standing well above the water lilies. You'll find classics here like the pink 'Carolina Queen' and 'Mrs. Perry D. Slocum', a double whose flowers change from pink to yellow, along with newer cultivars in every lotus color.

They need room. Use a container 24 to 48 inches across, set it in full sun with 12 to 24 inches of water over the crown once established, and leave surface space around it, since one plant can spread over several feet. Our lotus planting instructions cover the rest. Lotus ship as dormant bare root tubers in spring, with flat $18 shipping however many you order.
