Limited Time & Limited Quantities: Lotus are harvested during winter dormancy and shipped bare root, March 15 - Early May Only. Orders ship Mon-Wed of each week and are weather-dependent. Please allow extra delivery time if the order is placed Wed-Sun or during extreme temperatures.
How to Plant & Care for Lotus
Description
Nelumbo nucifera — dwarf lotus, shipped as a dormant lotus tuber.
Non-Stop Blooming. The bud and 1st day flower of Green Love are, indeed, green! The flower is definitely tulip-shaped and only relaxes to fully open around the 3rd day and even then there is green at the tip of the petals. Massive flower production for us here at the nursery and it even threw a double-headed flower this summer (see picture below). The flowers are high up over the leaves.

As a dwarf lotus, this one settles at 2 to 12 inches of water over the crown once established — start a new tuber under 2 to 4 inches and raise the level as it pushes aerial leaves, with the growing tip left uncovered.
