Blue Thumb Bacti-Twist is a black, spiral-shaped plastic bio-ribbon filter media that handles both biological AND mechanical filtration in a single media bag. The high surface-area-to-volume ratio of the bio-ribbon shape gives nitrifying bacteria (Nitrosomonas + Nitrobacter colonies) maximum living space to break down ammonia and nitrite from fish waste, while the spiral channels mechanically trap suspended debris that flows through.

The media drops into any pressurized pond filter, gravity bio-falls box, bakki shower, or upflow biological filter chamber. Available in four bag sizes — 1/2 cu ft, 1 cu ft, 2 cu ft, and 5 cu ft — so you can size the media exactly to your filter chamber's volume.
