Pondcare Aquatic Planting Media 25LB. Bag
Easy to use planting media for all aquatic plants. It is comprised of a unique blend of natural minerals, including Zeolite which securely holds the plants in its container so that the plants can form a strong root system. Zeolite adds the benefit of high nutrients-holding capacity. Does not float, cloud water or clog filters.
Really good stuff, I think
80% arcillite 20% zeolite. Chatter on the net says that's non-toxic, really good stuff, but the bag says to wash hands after use and not get in open wounds. Seeking to ask company why the precaution, when zeolite is consumed as a cleansing supplement and arcillite is a kind of fired, porous, montmorillonite clay. The two substances won't muck up the water.
crushed rock or soil?
This media is more like small bits of crushed rocks than actual soil. I was a little surprised when I opened the bag. Most of my other plants have dirt bottoms in the container. How much nutrients does it have? will this work? I'm thinking I should've ordered up some fertilizer and maybe some regular dirt to mix this in with.
Best Pond Plant Soil
Nice because it doesn't get muddy and spread all over pond like the other options out there.
