PerformancePro Swing Check Valves

PerformancePro swing check valves in PVC with slip by slip (glue) connections, from 1-1/2 to 4 in.

PerformancePro calls for a swing check valve whenever the discharge pipe runs uphill from the pump, to stop water from flowing back and spinning the pump backward. They also warn against spring loaded check valves with their pumps, because a spring valve reduces or stops the flow.

On a Cascade, which isn't self-priming, PerformancePro recommends a swing check valve plus a priming pot unless the pump is gravity fed. The clear body lets you see inside the valve.
