PA7 or PA14: Which Kit Fits Your Pond
Size the kit to the pond you have. The PA7 is rated for ponds up to 750 gallons and runs one air stone. The PA14 is rated for up to 1,500 gallons and has two outlets, each with its own hose and stone, so you can aerate two spots at once.
Then check depth. PondMAX gives the PA7 a maximum pumping depth of 4 ft and the PA14 6 ft, and recommends setting the stones 2 to 4 feet down for best results.

Setting It Up So It Lasts
Start with where the pump goes. It can never be submerged, so give it a dry, protected spot, ideally above the pond's high-water line. If it has to sit below the water level, fit the included check valve in the airline close to the pump; that stops pond water siphoning back into it when the power is off.
Plug it into a GFCI-protected outlet. Route the tubing away from sharp edges, foot traffic and anywhere it could get pinched, and space multiple stones around the pond to spread the circulation.
Maintenance, Parts and Warranty
Check the airflow now and then, and give the stones and hose a regular clean so the output stays up. The air filter sponge needs changing too. Both kits come with spare diaphragms, and when those are used up, PondMAX makes a diaphragm and magnet replacement kit for each pump: see our PA Series Air Pump Replacement Diaphragm Kits. PondMAX lists the PA7/PA14 hose and sphere air stone combo (28PA102) as a replacement part for both pumps, and you will find it on our PondMAX Aeration Accessories page.
PondMAX covers the PA7 and PA14 with a 1-year limited warranty. Some parts are consumables that wear with normal use and are not covered, which is one more reason to have a spare air filter and diaphragms ready.
