Dosing Instructions

Bath Treatment

Add 1 teaspoon (~10 g) per 20 gallons (76 L) of water every 3 days, producing a treatment concentration of approximately 5 mg/L metronidazole and 2.5 mg/L praziquantel. Bath treatments may require up to 10 applications.

Pre-Treatment

A minimum 30% water change is required before the first dose and before each re-dose. Condition the new water with Hikari ClorAm-X®, Ultimate®, or use RO water.

Filtration During Treatment

Remove activated carbon before treatment. Do not completely stop filtration — that would impact the nitrogen cycle. Other filtration should continue running.

Oral / Medicated Feed

IntestiPro® may also be prepared as medicated feed (using gelatin or a dry-food binder) and fed twice daily — only the amount the fish will completely consume within 5 minutes. Continue feeding for at least 3 days beyond the disappearance of all signs of disease.

Contraindications

• Do not use in any system that contains snails, crayfish, shrimp, or other invertebrates — IntestiPro® is harmful to invertebrates.
• Never use with permanganate-based treatments.
• Avoid sulfur- or sulfinite-based water conditioners during treatment.
• Avoid skin and eye contact. Do not breathe powder or dust. Do not ingest.
• California Proposition 65: This product contains a chemical (metronidazole) known to the State of California to cause cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm.
