Kaneko Koi Farm – Tamasaba Kohaku Pattern
Rare Japanese Goldfish from the Pioneer of Kujaku
Breeder: Yasuaki Kaneko | Location: Nigorisawa, Nagaoka, Niigata | Founded: 1961
Kaneko Koi Farm is internationally famous as one of the first breeders to create and stabilize the Kujaku variety. With 55 mud ponds across 30,000 m², Yasuaki Kaneko continues his father Takaaki's legacy of innovation. Among their specialties is the rare Tamasaba — a single-tailed Japanese goldfish bred with koi-grade standards, featuring robust rounded bodies, elegant single tails, and the stunning Kohaku pattern of red and white.
- Koi-Grade Breeding Standards: Bred by a top koi farm, not a goldfish hatchery — the quality difference is unmistakable.
- Kohaku Pattern Excellence: Vivid red and white patterning bred to the same standards as premium koi.
- Rare & Collectible: Very few farms in Japan produce Tamasaba — a true collector's treasure.
- Pond & Tank Friendly: Smaller than koi, Tamasaba are perfect for smaller water features or as charming pond companions.
Why Choose Kaneko Tamasaba?
Bred by one of Niigata's most innovative koi masters, each Tamasaba carries the precision and care that has made Kaneko globally respected for over 60 years.
