PondMAX Solar Pump Kit

PondMAX Solar Pump Kits are the ideal DIY solar pumps on the market. The Kits are perfect for fountains and other backyard water features. Solar Pump Kits come in two sizes, and include pump and panels. Both models include a 16' cord.

PondMAX lists a brushless motor with dry-run protection for its solar pump, and the system runs on solar energy alone, so there is no outlet to run. It pumps when the panel is in direct sunlight. If you want the water moving into the evening, pair it with a battery back-up. The PondMAX Battery Back-up below is built for compatible PondMAX Solar Pump Kits.

Solar Battery Back-up (PM700SB):

On a full charge it runs the pump by itself for about 3 to 4 hours. How long you actually get depends on the charge, the pump load and the voltage you set.

Output adjusts from 12 V to 24 V. At 12 V the pump runs at a lower level for longer; at 24 V you get full performance, but the battery empties faster.

On cloudy days or through winter, switch the timer on and the pump runs 10 minutes in every hour to stretch the charge. With the timer off, it runs continuously for as long as there is enough charge.

The battery keeps charging in daylight even when the system switch is off, and overcharge protection stops the charging current once it is full. LED indicators show what it is doing: the yellow CHARGE light comes on when charging starts. If the battery falls to its minimum voltage, the pump stops and the SYSTEM light turns red; once enough charge is back, it starts again by itself.

The housing is weatherproof, but put the unit somewhere protected and dry, out of direct sun and extreme temperatures. Wire it only to the DC solar supply it is specified for.

The battery back-up carries its own 1-year warranty.
