Limited Time & Limited Quantities: Lotus are harvested during winter dormancy and shipped bare root, March 15 - Early May Only. Orders ship Mon-Wed of each week and are weather-dependent. Please allow extra delivery time if the order is placed Wed-Sun or during extreme temperatures.
How to Plant & Care for Lotus
Description
Nelumbo nucifera 'Karen's Kookie-Doodle', bowl lotus, shipped as a dormant lotus tuber.
Karen's Kookie-Doodle is a true mini. It tops out around 10 to 12 inches tall, so it suits a small container or patio bowl where a regular lotus would be too big.
The flowers are a cheerful pink and open among small round leaves. New buds keep rising above the foliage through the season, so there's usually something to watch.
It's named for Karen on our nursery team, who bakes a great cookie.

As a bowl lotus, this one settles at 2 to 12 inches of water over the crown once established. Start a new tuber under 2 to 4 inches and raise the level as it pushes aerial leaves, with the growing tip left uncovered. Pot size, soil and the rest of the method are in the lotus planting instructions.
