Pond Logic Algae Defense is a rapid-acting liquid contact algaecide, formulated to treat filamentous algae, bottom-growing chara, or planktonic algae. Algae Defense can be mixed with pond water and sprayed directly onto target algae for fast acting results. Algae Defense is not recommended in ponds with koi, goldfish, grass carp or trout, but it is great for fresh water lakes, potable water reservoirs, fish hatcheries and game fish ponds. For best results, use Algae Defense with Treatment Booster PLUS, which maximizes algae treatments by helping to spread and bond the treatment to its target algae. Treatment Booster PLUS also breaks down the surface of the algae allow the treatment to penetrate.
1 Gallon on Algae Defense diluted with 10 gallon of water will treat 8,000 square feet of undesirable plant area.
When To Use Algae Defense
Algae Defense should be applied to target algae while it is active and growing. The active ingredients in Algae Defense will be absorbed by the plant killing it entirely.
How To Use Algae Defense
Mix with water (according to directions on bottle) and spray directly onto algae using a pressurized sprayer for best results. Over time, treated algae will begin to brown and die. Rake away dead algae to prevent an accumulation of plant decay and pond muck. We recommend to treat up to half of the pond's surface at any time, waiting 10 to 14 days before treating the second half. In hot weather or when fish are stessed, treat 1/4 to 1/3 of the pond at a time. For deeper water, place the tank sprayer's tip beneath the water's surface.
Algae Defense Water Use Restrictions
Algae Defense should not be used in ponds with koi, goldfish, grass carp or trout. Algae Defense cannot be shipped to Alaska, California, Connecticut, District of Columbia, Hawaii, Maine, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Vermont or Washington.
