Description

The Aqua Ultraviolet Viper 1200 W Plastic is the largest single-housing UV sterilizer Aqua UV builds in a non-stainless chassis. Designed for commercial koi farms, large pondscapes (20,000+ gallons), and aquaculture grow-out systems, the 1200 W Viper delivers high-output UV-C dose across 3", 4", and 6" port sizes. The Multi-Unit configuration with Flow Switch (AS91207) supports 220 V industrial service and is the standard for parallel multi-housing installations where total sterilization load exceeds what one chamber can handle.

Key Features

  • 1200 W single-housing UV sterilization — largest non-SS Viper
  • Available port sizes: 3", 4", 6" Slip Union
  • Multi-Unit + Flow Switch variant (AS91207) for parallel commercial installations on 220 V service
  • Wiper-equipped variants keep quartz sleeves clean without operator intervention

Flow Rate (GPH) by Wattage

Wattage Max GPH (Clarification, ~30,000 µW/cm²) — green-water control Min GPH (Sterilization, ~90,000 µW/cm²) — parasite + bacteria kill
1200 W 52,500 GPH 17,500 GPH

Sizing rule: divide your filtered circulation rate (GPH) by the column you need. Pick a unit whose Max GPH ≥ your circulation rate to achieve clarification dose; pick a unit whose Min GPH ≥ your circulation rate to achieve full sterilization dose at that flow.

Frequently Asked Questions

Plastic vs Stainless Steel Viper at 1200 W?

Plastic is appropriate for sheltered indoor / covered outdoor installations. Choose Stainless Steel if the unit lives in direct sunlight, saltwater, or industrial environments with chemical exposure.

What's the Multi-Unit + Flow Switch variant for?

Industrial commercial systems frequently run 2-4 Vipers in parallel to handle higher GPH loads. The Flow Switch interlocks the lamps with verified flow — if circulation drops below safe minimum, the lamps shut off to prevent overheating.
