Description
Iris versicolor, also known as Blue Flag Iris, is a water-loving iris for ponds and other wet spots. Here is what to know before you plant it:
- Hardiness Zones: The Iris Versicolor is a versatile plant that can thrive in planting zones 3-9, making it a perfect fit for many gardens across North America.
- Water: This iris loves wet feet, so plant it in a moist spot such as a pond or rain garden. It can grow in up to 4 inches of standing water.
- Sun: It tolerates some shade but does best in a sunny spot with at least six hours of sunlight a day.
- Height: It can grow up to 3 feet tall.
- Pollinators: It is a favorite of pollinators, especially bees.
