Head, Power & Plumbing by Model
Don't assume a bigger XC pushes water higher. Max head doesn't rise in step with flow: the XC4200 tops out at 17 ft, below the XC2000's 19 ft. If your waterfall outlet sits well above the water line, pick by the head figure as well as the GPH.

Installation Options
Decide first whether the pump will sit in the water or beside it. The XC works either way.
- Submerged in a skimmer box or down on the pond floor, which is how most people install it. Leave enough water over the intake that it can't run dry.
- Plumbed in-line outside the pond, sitting in a pump vault or an external filter housing. Here the water has to reach the pump by gravity or through a flooded suction line.
In both setups the moveable footplate lets you change the pump's orientation, and the NPT threads on the inlet and outlet take standard PVC plumbing. Every model has a 32 ft cord, so you can put the pump farther from the outlet. If the water level does drop too low, SmartMAG protection shuts the pump off and starts it again by itself once the water comes back.
Good to Know
- There's no mechanical shaft seal to wear out and no oil touching the water. The magnetically coupled impeller is the only moving part.
- Screws and hardware are high-grade stainless steel.
- It's intended for fresh water, and it's covered by a 2-year limited warranty.
