Photo by Scott Pendleton. We Love this lotus with its supersaturated pink color! 'Beijing Temple of Heaven' was hybridized by Yileen Gardens in Nanjing. We are excited to be able to bring this lovely new hybrid to the United States. It is a tall cultivar with large single petal pink/red flowers featuring an emerald green receptacle with a fancy collar of heavy white anthers on the first day. As the flower ages the receptacle and stamen go through exciting and vibrant color changes with something new to offer every day.

As a large pond lotus, this one settles at 12 to 24 inches of water over the crown once established — start a new tuber under 2 to 4 inches and raise the level as it pushes aerial leaves, with the growing tip left uncovered.
