Description
Nelumbo nucifera — medium lotus, shipped as a dormant lotus tuber.
A lovely pure white lotus that has proven to be trustworthy for many years! The single-petal cup-shaped flower has elongated petals that come to a sharp point. Baby Doll is an American lotus hybridized by Dr. Perry D. Slocum. Although we find this variety difficult to grow many disagree with us. This variety is found in many of the older, more established botanical gardens in America.

As a medium lotus, this one settles at 6 to 18 inches of water over the crown once established — start a new tuber under 2 to 4 inches and raise the level as it pushes aerial leaves, with the growing tip left uncovered.
