Lemon & Lime Lotus (Bare Root)

Nelumbo nucifera — bowl lotus, shipped as a dormant lotus tuber.

Fabulous rhizomes available for 2024. Is it yellow? Or is it green? This lovely lotus can be both! The green flowers are more evident early in the season when the weather is a bit cooler with the rich, butter yellow color becoming more common later in the summer. The flower of Lemon & Lime is very round, mounded and held higher than the leaves. It is almost always duplicate with showy dark green petaloids in the center. The flower is long-lasting and holds its color until the petals drop.

The rhizomes for this variety are small and tends to be a little more difficult to grow so we recommend it for experienced growers, please.

As a bowl lotus, this one settles at 2 to 12 inches of water over the crown once established — start a new tuber under 2 to 4 inches and raise the level as it pushes aerial leaves, with the growing tip left uncovered. Growing it as a micro lotus
