Pond Fountains and Floating Fountain Displays

Fountains add dramatic visual appeal and valuable aeration to ponds and water features of every size. Play It Koi carries a full range of fountain systems including floating display fountains, decorative fountain heads, tiered fountain kits, and submersible pump-and-nozzle combinations. Beyond their beauty, fountains serve a practical purpose by agitating the water surface, which increases oxygen exchange and helps prevent stagnant conditions that promote algae growth and mosquito breeding.

Floating Display Fountains

Floating fountains are self-contained units that sit on the water surface and project water into the air through interchangeable nozzle patterns. V-shaped, trumpet, and geyser patterns are among the most popular styles. Larger floating fountains can project water 10 feet or higher and include LED lighting packages for dramatic nighttime displays. These fountains are popular for larger ponds, HOA community water features, and commercial properties where visual impact matters.

Decorative and Architectural Fountains

For a more formal look, tiered and architectural fountain kits create classic water feature designs. Wall-mounted fountains and basin fountains work well in courtyard and patio settings. Pondless fountain systems provide the sight and sound of moving water without an open pond, making them ideal for small spaces, commercial properties, and homes with young children. Spitter fountains shaped as fish, frogs, or abstract sculptures add whimsy and personality.

Fountain Pumps and Plumbing

Every fountain needs a properly sized pump to achieve its designed spray height and pattern. Submersible fountain pumps sit directly beneath the nozzle for simple, self-contained installations. For larger or more complex displays, external pumps connected through dedicated plumbing lines provide higher flow rates and easier maintenance. Match pump GPH to the nozzle manufacturer's specifications, and account for head height when calculating required pump output.

Fountain Lighting and Accessories

Pond lighting transforms fountains into nighttime centerpieces. Underwater LED spotlights aimed upward through the spray column create a glowing pillar of light. Color-changing LED rings that mount directly to the fountain nozzle provide dynamic light shows with remote control operation. Fountain timers and smart plugs allow automated schedules so fountains run during peak viewing hours and shut off overnight to save energy. Combine fountains with decorative pond accessories and spillways for a layered water feature design.
